Therefore, to avoid conflicts, it is recommended to uninstall other anti-bot software and use only BotShield. If using a fork, ensure its built-in anti-bot feature is disabled.

How do I configure BotShield after installation?

What is Cloud module?

The Cloud module is an integral part of the Proxy component. When enabled, it activates the BotShield to verify all players for VPNs or proxies using our comprehensive Cloud database.

Please note that Cloud only blocks malicious IP addresses, not players using VPNs or proxies. It's designed to stop bots, not legitimate players. If you want to block legitimate players using VPN/Proxy services you have to enable External module.

Can you add malicious IP addresses to your Cloud database?

If you encounter any IP addresses not listed in our Cloud database, please reach out to us via our official Discord server. After receiving your report, we will verify them for VPN/Proxy usage and update our database accordingly.

Which Minecraft versions are compatible with BotShield?

How much RAM should I allocate for a server with BotShield installed?

When allocating RAM for a server running BotShield, consider the workload and required bot mitigation level.

• Basic Usage: For small networks or light traffic, allocate 2-4 GB of RAM.

• High Usage: For high-demand networks or heavy traffic, allocate 4-8 GB of RAM or more as needed.

Is it necessary to use any additional forks alongside BotShield?

No, additional forks are not required. BotShield is fully capable of managing and mitigating all types of attacks, including malicious packets, bots, pings, null pings, exceptions, and more. We are the only anti-bot solution that provides comprehensive protection against all attack vectors without the need for any forks. Our system is engineered to handle hundreds of thousands of requests per second directed to your network. Simply drag and drop BotShield into your plugin folder, and you're all set.

How often should I restart a server with BotShield installed?

We continuously refine our signature database, and to stay current with the latest cloud-based updates, we advise restarting your server at least once weekly. Upon restart, the newest signatures will be automatically downloaded and applied.
